Activities at HJF-CIM began in 1990 and since then over $7,000,000 has been generated in research. Within less than three short years, the Center has seen remarkable growth in the number of research programs both internally and externally. Its faculty and students come from around the world, performing research on state-of-the art equipment. Project funding for research comes from various areas of the government: U.S. Army, SDC, NASA-Marshall Space Flight Center, Department of Energy, and the National Science Foundation; as well as from the corporate sector: Nichols Research Corporation, Wiley Labs, United Applied Technology, Rantek, and United Technology Research Center.
