	Honeycomb High-Temperature Heat Exchanger
Biocompatible Devices		Two glassy polymeric carbon ( GPC ) heart valves. The surface properties of the shiny black GPC was improved at CIM in collaboration with researchers at the University of Sao Paulo. The valve on the right has only one moving part. The red material is another biocompatible polymer used to attach the valve to the heart and aorta tissue. Thousands of GPC valves have been produced and implanted successfully in Brazil.
